An advert for a betting company seen on the dating app Tinder has been banned for linking betting to sexual success.

the yohaig code ad for William Hill, which was sent out as a message to users, read: "Stuck in the friend zone? You will not be for a lot longer if you use this Cheltenham [horse racing] totally free bet deal."
It was followed by a link to download the William Hill app.

But the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) stated it should not appear again in its present kind.
It stated that, according to advertising guidelines, gambling ads should not connect betting to "seduction, sexual success or enhanced beauty".
"We considered that the text ... recommended that those who gambled would be most likely to develop a relationship into a sexual relationship and for that reason connected gaming with sexual success," it stated.
William Hill initially defended the March advert after a client grumbled.
The company said clients who registered would "participate in a relationship with William Hill", and the advert was supposed to relate this to the nature of the yohaig code service they were marketing on - Tinder.
It said it was not its intent to link gambling to sexual success.
However, upon reflection it concurred the advertisement could have been misinterpreted and took it down voluntarily.
William Hill said: "We take on board what the ASA have actually stated about this promotion code specific advert and have eliminated it from circulation."
Tinder on the other hand said it had actually evaluated the advertisement before publishing it, finding it was not socially reckless, offensive or targeting minors.
'Speechless'
Campaigners have been requiring harder policy of betting marketing.
One, the Bishop of St Albans, Dr Alan Smith, stated he was "left speechless" by ads like William Hill's.

"The gaming market's technique to self-regulation appears farcical as more of these adverts are exposed. I fear some betting companies are now running under a 'don't get captured' mindset.
